The Sound of Silence

Craig and I recently spent a sun soaked week in the Lake District.

Beautiful rolling hills, water a plenty and not a single solitary Peter Rabbit figurine to be had anywhere.

What there was though was meditation, yoga classes and retreats a plenty.  And what a perfectly peaceful place to have them.

I’m confident that for many people these retreats are a wonderful experience.

However, you don’t have to spend money to meditate and re-connect with yourself.

Simply find a peaceful place, play some pleasant relaxing music or just listen to the sounds of nature around you.  Clear your mind and concentrate on deep breathing so that you can get to a place where you are not thinking!

Meditation has been proven to decrease anxiety and lower blood pressure and increases brain activity.

So, even though we travelled to the idyllic landscapes of Beatrix Potter country my Peter Rabbit figurine was purchased off the internet when we got home.

Likewise, you don’t have to travel anywhere other than where you are right now in order to experience a few minutes of mediation, internal silence and peace of mind.
