Celebrate Good Times!

Last week we celebrated with the 2nd cohort of delegates who have completed the ‘Awaken the Leader Within’ management development programme.

We all had a great day at The Petwood Hotel, in Woodhall Spa.  Craig facilitated a creative ice-breaker which saw the groups have to work together to come up with a team name, a heraldic shield and a verse to the tune of ‘She’ll be coming round the mountain’, all of which had to be achieved in 30 minutes and then fed back to the whole room.

In true Blue Peter style, we here at Totem HQ came up with an example of “one we made earlier” – also time limiting ourselves to 30-minutes!

The activity was a great hit and we will be sharing our results on our YouTube channel shortly.
There was a serious element to the day too, discussing continued learning points and a brief session of Customer Care.  The main event, of course, was the presentation of Certificates and Award trophies.

A delegate from our original series of programmes– Carolynn Fletcher - was also able to join us.  We are delighted that, in no small part due to completing the course, she has made the NurseryWorld Awards Shortlist for ‘Manager of the Year’.  We wish you the very best of luck Carolynn for the ceremony at the end of September.

Sadly, we were notified this week that Craig didn’t make the Shortlist this year for the ‘Trainer of Year’ award at the same event.  However, we are delighted he was nominated again and are content knowing that Lincolnshire is extremely well represented at this National Awards Ceremony.

Generally, as a nation, we don’t seem to be very good at trumpeting our own business achievements but here’s a couple of reasons why we should:

It can inspire and motivate people. After all a motivated workforce is a productive workforce;

If we don’t tell people how good we are, then surely our competitors will tell them how good they are.

So with Kool and the Gang ‘Celebrating’ in the background we would like to say Congratulations to all those who successfully navigated the course to become ‘Confident, Capable Leaders’.
